Description

“set ” works in augtools and beheaves like “clear ”, but it does not work in puppet. This might be fixed in the ruby-augeas git HEAD.

This could be an odd side effect for the user. Since clear is now provided, is that accetable?

What are the odd effects you are thinking of? When I tested it, it just failed, so if it does not fail anymore, how can it be bad? Nevertheless it’s obviously good to have a way to specify this with clear, but differences between augtool and puppet just make it harder to develop the right augeas setting. So maybe you can schedule the change at least for a major update.
